Player Focus: Why Draxler and Schürrle Aren't Chelsea's Priority
Jose Mourinho’s long awaited return to Chelsea is complete and with it hoards of swooning fans in West London are satisfied that the glory days in the Premier League are set to return.
The club can now start to play their hand with regards to transfer dealings this summer, but the reports to date have been somewhat confusing.
The Blues’ strong suit last season was their midfield, and in particular an attacking trident behind either Fernando Torres or Demba Ba. Why, then, the club are being linked to a number of options in similar positions is baffling to many.
Apparent interest in players that would disrupt Chelsea's attacking midfield trio of Oscar, Mata and Hazard just don't seem to make much sense.

Why Chelsea will win the Champions League in 2014
Chelsea's 2012 Champions League triumph felt like a long, distant memory for much of last season. A dismal, group-stage exit in November turned the club upside down and left the fans in disarray.
The fact that they went on to win the Europa League was little consolation, as even the players seemed far less bothered by Europe's second-best club competition.
Putting another nail into the coffin of the narrative that Mourinho is youth-unfriendly
As we saw in Part 5839 of our series of "Jose Mourinho hates kids," Chelsea's new-old manager actually had set a rather progressive youth policy while at Inter, designed to methodically integrate into the first team at least four of the best young players in the system. It's easy then to envision how a prospect like Raphael Varane reaped the benefits of a similar policy when Jose was calling the shots at Real Madrid.

Mourinho’s Return: A Win-Win Situation?
So, he’s back. After all the speculation and the hope that it wasn’t misfounded, The Special One is home – or at least he will be when he’s officially unveiled next Monday. On a four year deal and a reported £8.5m salary, Jose Mourinho is back at Chelsea and in the Premier League as its highest paid manager.
HAZARD: A GOOD YEAR
Eden Hazard has plenty of reasons to be pleased with his first season in Chelsea blue, and is hoping to do even better second time around.
The Belgian burst onto the Barclays Premier League scene with some eye-catching displays, claiming two assists within six minutes on his league debut against Wigan Athletic last August, and quickly became a key player for both Roberto Di Matteo and Rafael Benitez, alongside Juan Mata and Oscar as one of the 'three amigos' behind either Fernando Torres or Demba Ba.

Juan Mata, god of the goal assist, seeks to join Chelsea's pantheon
Midfielder is being compared to Gianfranco Zola and reaching the same heights is the aim of the Blues' goal creator in chief
Why keeping David Luiz should be Mourinho’s top priority
Jose Mourinho will have several priorities when he’s confirmed as Chelsea’s next manager and the main one should be trying to keep David Luiz at the club.
The Brazilian has been tipped to follow his international teammate Neymar to theNou Camp as the long term replacement for Carles Puyol and the defensive solution for the Spanish champions.
Left back? Ashley Cole will have to audition for his old Chelsea job in pre-season
Ashley Cole will have to fight for his Chelsea place next season – despite ¬signing a new contract to stay at Stamford Bridge.
Left-back Cole last week produced a surprise U-turn by signing Chelsea’s ¬one-year extension offer, which included a pay rise.
But the Sunday Mirror understands the Blues plan to start next season with 32-year-old Cole and his deputy Ryan Bertrand on an even footing.
Hazard would swap PFA prize for trophy
Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard wants success as a team to be prioritised ahead of personal accolades as he approaches the conclusion of his first season as a Premier League player.
Chelsea midfielder Oscar a visionary with an eye for the spectacular
A jink of the shoulder created a fraction of space and he clipped the ball over Mika, the Portugal goalkeeper, and inside the far post. It was his third goal of the game and proved to be the winner. But the question everybody was asking was, did he mean it?

Ba wants to partner Torres up front and be Chelsea's dynamic duo next season
Chelsea striker Demba Ba would relish more competition with Fernando Torres next season - but is also keen to partner the Spaniard.
Outgoing manager Rafael Benitez tended to rotate his principal forwards after Ba arrived from Newcastle in January.
But with Benitez moving on and Ba's ineligibility for European football no longer an issue, that could change under the next manager.
Chelsea are 'open minded' over new manager... even Mourinho, says Buck

Speaking to Al Jazeera, Buck insisted the Blues are concentrating on the run-in on three fronts, and will make a decision at the end of the season.

Chelsea confirm Benitez exit... and they're already building statues of him at Napoli
Rafael Benitez's tenure as Chelsea boss is officially over after the club announced they had released him from his contract tonight.
The Spaniard's impending exit from Stamford Bridge had been known for some time and last night it was announced that he will become the new head coach of Serie A club Napoli.
Rafael Benítez vindicated after methods finally earn Chelsea acceptance
Spaniard's marriage of convenience with the Blues ends in smiles and a trophy after six months of fractious relations
The longest season has its reward. Chelsea's campaign has taken in 68 matches in 11 different countries across eight competitions, an energy-sapping schedule overseen by two managers that, courtesy of a stoppage-time winner near its end, has yielded silverware. Rafael Benítez paced his technical area here, hands sunk deep into his pockets, as this contest played out its frantic last seconds before the final whistle brought relief.
His punch of the air was stifled by Christophe Lollichon's bear-hug. Once he had emerged from the goalkeeping coach's embrace, there was a smile of satisfaction plastered across his face.
Chelsea will be special for as long as Roman Abramovich stays
Even by increasingly crazy Chelsea standards, this season has surely been the most turbulent, bizarre and bewildering of recent times at Stamford Bridge.
There was the sacking of crowd favourite Roberto Di Matteo, who had guided the Blues to a stunning Champions League success just a few months before.
Chelsea: Abramovich And Mourinho Reunited
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and returning manager Jose Mourinho have a partnership forged on a craving for success.
Jose Mourinho marked his return to Chelsea with the observation that the time was right for he and the club to "marry again".
As opening gambits go it was classic Mourinho, demonstrating that whatever has changed in the last six years he has not lost his ear for a soundbite.
The metaphor fits perfectly with the narrative the Portuguese Mourinho has shaped since he began eyeing a return to England, and Chelsea in particular, at the turn of the year.
